To create a scatterplot chart designers need to specify data points and values for the X and Y axis. The Data Point section controls scaling and shape.
Three elements are necessary to create this type of chart, an example of which is seen below:
An example of a simple scatter chart
Data Points - To create a plotted point in the example image, select the variable "World Region." This variable is referred to as the Data Points in the property panel. The categories of the selected question will be used as the values to plot on the chart and display in the legend.
The Data Point section of the property panel enables the designer to control the scaling of the point size based on the measure's value and to determine the shape that represents the bubble.

X and Y Axis - To plot the position of the variable on the scatterplot, you need to specify the corresponding values for the X and Y axis. In the example image, "Average Annual Account Value" is used for the X axis and "Average Total Account Value" is used for the Y axis.
In addition to specifying the values for plotting data on the X and Y axes, you also have the option to control the minimum and maximum values, label the axis, and format the tick mark values.
