Historical Benchmark widget can be customized in the setup section for table cell editing, hierarchy selection, trend arrow calculations and date columns.
Click the edit widget icon for the widget to open its property panel.
In the Setup section, navigate to the "Value" field and add the expression that you want to use for the calculations in the Historical Benchmark's table cells.
When defining the expression, you can apply conditional formatting to the cell number, along with an optional target. You also have the option to display the base as an additional value in the same cell with the calculation.
Setting the Hierarchy Question
The rows of the Historical Benchmark always follow a hierarchy, which can be a drilldown or a hierarchy defined in the report. The drop-down will list all valid hierarchies for you to choose from.
Setting the Trend Arrow Calculation
By default, a cell displays an arrow that reflects the cell's value in comparison to the value in the previous cell in the same row. This feature allows users to quickly identify the direction of change in values across each period defined in the columns.
To specify whether the arrow should indicate significant change or be based on the set confidence level, toggle the "Significance testing" option.
Setting the Date Columns
The columns of the historical benchmark widget are based on a date.
To define these columns:
In the "Columns" section, specify the date variable to be used.
Choose the breakdown period to define each column, such as weeks, months, quarters, or years.
Define the start and end date range that the columns should span.
Note
When setting the start and end date range, you can use relative or specific dates. When using relative dates, the table will update dynamically to show the relevant relative periods.
